English Tutor
My name is Cameron, a thirty-year-old private English tutor from Glasgow, Scotland. I graduated from Strathclyde University in 2022 with a Bsc. (Hons) Degree in English, Journalism and Creative Writing. Having always been a huge admirer of the subject, it would bring me great pleasure to assist you in any manner that I can! I have been tutoring online for two and a half years and have found great success in aiding my many students (over 85 students and 2,500 lessons!) over this time. I make lessons fun, engaging, and on occasion truly exciting, with my approach tailored to the individual needs of each learner, aiding in the growth of confidence and discipline as well as educational attainment.
Head of Science
I am an experienced Science teacher and educational leader with over 19 years of teaching experience across secondary and post-16 education. As a Physics specialist and former Head of Science, I have helped hundreds of students build confidence, improve their understanding and achieve success in GCSE and A-level Science. My teaching combines high academic expectations with a supportive, personalised approach, adapting lessons to meet the needs of each learner, including those with SEND, anxiety or gaps in learning. I am passionate about making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging, helping students develop not only their subject knowledge but also the confidence and independent learning skills they need to thrive. Whether supporting students to improve grades, prepare for examinations or rediscover a love of learning, I am committed to helping every learner reach their full potential
Physics Tutor
For three decades, I've had the privilege of guiding students through their Physics journey, watching them transform from uncertain beginners to confident young scientists. As a former Head of Physics at a grammar school, I've helped hundreds of students not just understand Physics, but discover their own passion for it. Many of my former students have gone on to pursue successful careers in science and engineering. Having worked with AQA, OCR, and Edexcel (including international boards) and served as an AQA examiner, I understand exactly what students need to succeed in their exams. But more importantly, I've learned that every student has their own unique way of understanding Physics – it's about finding the right approach for each individual. What excites me most is seeing that 'light bulb moment' when a challenging concept suddenly makes sense. In recent years, I've embraced online tutoring, incorporating interactive Physics simulations that bring complex theories to life. Whether it's explaining quantum mechanics or breaking down circuit problems, I use these tools to make Physics more accessible and allow students to understand the simple underlying concepts in each topic. My teaching philosophy is simple: everyone can excel in Physics with the right support. It's about building confidence, understanding real-world applications, and developing problem-solving skills that last a lifetime, which also allows them to excel in their exams and reach their potential.
Economics Student
I am a friendly and patient GCSE Mathematics tutor studying PPE at the University of Warwick. I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics and an A in A-Level Mathematics, and I have over two years of tutoring experience supporting students with a range of abilities. My lessons are calm, encouraging, and tailored to each student. I use plenty of written examples and work through questions step by step, helping students understand each method rather than simply memorising answers. I also focus on building confidence, improving exam technique, and helping students feel comfortable asking questions. Whether your child needs support catching up, preparing for exams, or working towards a higher grade, I provide clear, structured, and personalised lessons to help them make steady progress.

I have 15 years' experience as a qualified secondary school English Teacher and Head of Year, and 6 years’ experience as a Private Tutor across KS2 – KS4. I am currently an English Lecturer at a Further Education establishment. My experience as a classroom teacher and Head of Year has afforded me the understanding of the academic, social and emotional pressures students experience in their transition through each academic year, as well as the concerns of their parents who want their children to succeed in achieving the highest grades possible. My passion is to support anxious parents and students; challenge high achievers and motivate underachievers to reach their full potential. I have worked with students who have a wide range of Special Education Needs i.e. Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Hearing Impairment, SLCN, SEMH, SpLD and MLD. My tutoring style offers bespoke support to instil confidence and self-esteem in students by listening to them; building rapport and meeting their learning style/needs, to assist them in reaching their full potential and close their gaps in learning. I am proficient in teaching the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 syllabus, and have marked English GCSE papers on behalf of the AQA Examination board. I have also taught according to the Pearson Edexcel/Edexcel iGCSE and Cambridge/CIE iGCSE specifications. I offer baseline, formative and summative assessments, as well as student friendly mark schemes that are more accessible for students, especially those who are overwhelmed by the wording, content and length of the English exams.
